Founder J.C. Jacobsen – 1847 – pioneered steam brewing, refrigeration techniques and the production of a single yeast strain (Saccharomyces Carlsbergensis), from which Carlsberg beer was derived. All other premium beers in the world have been derived from this yeast strain.
